Bird watching sull'invaso dam Pertusillo
The dam of the socalled Stone Lake of Pertusillo was built in the 50s in the territory of Spinoso, damming the river Agri at the close of Pertusillo. The basin covers an area of 75 square kilometers with a capacity from 145 to 155 million of cubic meters of water.
Although the work had a considerable impact on the surroundings, preservation and respect for the environment has allowed the proliferation of many animal species in zone, including the non-common once, which often dwell by the lake. Among the sedentary animals there are coots, mallards, dun-birds and raptors present in most of Italy. In the most isolated areas of the lake we also find the heron.
Amongst the activities carried on, Pertusillo also include sport fishing, boating, biking and hiking.
